How to Make Beaded Name Bracelets*

Crafting Colorful Stories: Your Guide to Name Bracelets and Beyond

Instead of store-bought trinkets, you can create your own personalized name bracelets, choosing your own colors and materials to express your creativity.

Weave your tale: String pony beads and alphabet beads onto stretchy cord, crafting names, messages, or even team colors. Charms and tassels add playful splashes of personality to your wrist-hugging masterpieces.

Create & Share: These beauties are perfect for group activities, gifts, and party favors. Easily adapt them to suit any theme or occasion with our rainbow of pony beads. Create your own color combos, spell out cheers for your favorite team, or whisper secrets with letter beads.

    Design & Materials
Using 6mm beads, the average bracelet needs about 30 beads. This should be enough to spell most names and nicknames. Use plain beads in between to separate names and words to make it easier to read.

If you have really long names or phrases, you can:

    • use initials
    • use the short version of a name or a nickname
    • split the name into 2 or three bracelets and create a trendy multi-bracelet stack

How many beads do you need?

    • 7" Bracelet: Approximately 30 - 6mm beads (4 beads = about 1 inch)
    • 18" Necklace: Roughly 76 - 6mm beads
    • 24" Necklace: Around 102 - 6mm beads

Mix and match! Different bead sizes? Just adjust the quantity depending on the bead size. A bead board with grooves is handy for planning your bracelet designs. 6x9mm pony beads and 7mm cube alphabet beads are a great combo, but don't be afraid to experiment!

      Ready to Craft? Grab these:

      • Elastic cord: 11-12" per bracelet
      • Pony beads and alphabet beads
      • Soft place mat
      • Scissors
      • Bead stopper/clothes pin/binder clip
      • Beading needle (optional but helpful)

      Instructions (Stretch Bracelet Style):

      1. Cut your elastic cord.
      2. Secure a bead stopper to one end.
      3. String your beads in your desired order (name, message, team colors – go wild!).
      4. Tie a secure double knot and trim the excess cord.

      Tips for Dazzling Designs:

      • Charms and tassels: Add instant personality and flair.
      • Stacked sets: Create coordinated bracelet bundles – sets of 3, 5, or 8 are trendy!
      • Layered love: Combine a name bracelet with other beaded beauties for a stunning statement.
      • Long messages: Split them across multiple bracelets and stack them for an impactful reveal.

Beyond Bracelets: Pony beads are your gateway to a universe of imagination and creativity! Necklaces, keychains, banners – the possibilities are endless. Our convenient bead assortments provide everything you need to unleash your inner artist.
